Description Raef is a senior speech and language therapist, managing a multi-disciplinary team. During COVID-19, the team had to adapt to using online platforms for teletherapy. They have also been adapting to the organisation’s new digitally-enhanced ways of working. Raef and his team found this challenging but worked collaboratively to assess the most effective ways they could help their patients. This included hosting weekly team calls to share learnings. Raef became a subject matter expert in digital communication in speech and language therapy. He now shares this expertise nationally with other trusts. 

Raef has noticed low levels of technological creativity and innovation in speech and language therapists across England whilst doing this work. He wants to do the Digital Health Leadership Programme to inspire new ways of working amongst speech and language therapists and improve his training resources to provide the appropriate tools and language for them to navigate this new form of digital health. He aspires to move towards a senior digital role within his organisation, and wants to ensure Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) have a voice on the table with regards to the organisation’s digital agenda.

Description Ashanti holds a range of experience in digital health leadership. Their experience working with a range of stakeholders and patients across England has informed their practice to develop and improve the way digital solutions are employed during patient care.

They are also heavily involved with the Digital Nurse Network, helping to implement new technologies in nursing practice. They have extensive technical skills and a good operational understanding of digital changes in nursing.

However, Ashanti does not know how to inspire their passion for digital technologies within their team and on a larger scale, because nurses often shy away from new digital technologies out of fear. They would also like to learn how to facilitate and advocate for themselves and others in digital change processes as they are aware this would boost digital confidence amongst other nurses. This is why Ashanti wants to complete the Digital Health Leadership Programme.

Description Axelle has significant mid-senior level experience in digital transformation and oversees much of the governance on digital transformation programmes in acute and primary care settings. Axelle recognises how rapidly the digital landscape can change in the NHS and she wants to be able to help with leading her organisation and region to build a digital infrastructure which not only meets the targets of the NHS long-term plan but is also capable to adapting to the dynamic changes in digital health.

Therefore, Axelle wants to improve her strategic thinking and develop her knowledge of digital processes and environment. In addition, she aspires to support her colleagues in understanding the rationale and benefits of digital transformation in order to translate this into tangible, impactful change. This is why the Digital Health Leadership Programme will be beneficial to her.

Description Tilda is responsible for leading the implementation of electronic prescribing and medicines administration, within an organisation that would be considered to have quite a low-level of digital maturity. She understands the importance of increasing the digital capability of organisations and workforce within the NHS, and has a good understanding of organisation’s readiness for change. She is passionate about the roll-out of digital and has experience of implementing other digital change projects.

She hopes to develop a deeper understanding of how to ensure there is communication between stakeholders so that digital solutions are safe and embedded and meet users' needs to support improving efficiency, rather than acting as blockers. She believes the Digital Health Leadership Programme will help her grow as a leader, and provide her with the skills and knowledge to translate strategic vision into actions, to improve health and care. She aspires to be a Chief Pharmacy Information Officer, and hopes she will soon be in a position to influence change on a regional and national scale

Description Lingyun comes from a data and technology background, and has a good understanding of the technical processes and ethics involved in implementation of new digital solutions into the health and care environment. This has provided him with a good understanding of how digital technologies and data can enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the organisation, and increase performance. Specifically, he works within projects focused on the digital transformation of social care, offering targeted support and awareness around the Data Security and Protection Toolkit and expanding digital systems and software use beyond video conferencing and online training.

The Digital Health Leadership Programme will help him develop knowledge, understanding and skills in strategy and policy so he can drive digital innovation within strategic developments across his area and help organisations upskill the digital capabilities of their workforce.
Shyla

Description Shyla has been a practising paramedic in a digitally advanced Ambulance service in England and has previously held director roles in various trusts. Three years ago, she stepped into the role of Chief Paramedic and Quality Officer, taking on the responsibility for ensuring quality education and professional development in paramedics.

As part of this, Shyla introduced virtual reality training in less digitally mature trusts across her Integrated Care Board and helped produce a number of e-learning courses which were later adopted nationally. To do this she collaborated with colleagues and external stakeholders to understand what digital change was needed in paramedic education.

To continue making meaningful changes in paramedic education, Shyla would like to complete the Digital Health Leadership Programme to expand on her leadership skills and bring her passion for digital change to her organisation.
