Digital Integrated Care System (ICS) Programme insights

The Digital Integrated Care System (ICS) programme was a free support offer designed to support all Integrated Care Board (ICB) and Integrated Care System (ICS) leaders to better harness digital transformation to enable delivery of system ambitions. It ran for 3 years until June 2025.

The NHS Digital Academy supported the programme in partnership with NHS Alliance (now merged NHS Providers and NHS Confederation) alongside Public Digital.

The programme delivered bespoke board development sessions, peer learning events and published briefings, podcasts and toolkits on key topics to support leaders on this agenda.

Digital transformation is a fundamental enabler in achieving the four core purposes of ICS's and therefore it is critical that all system leaders understand their role in driving the digital agenda.

All ICS's are different in their design, and we took a highly bespoke approach to this programme so that we could provide appropriate and tailored support to each individual system.
