Digital skills development networks - Workforce census and regional digital workforce roadmaps

Digital skills development networks conduct a workforce data collection exercise and lead on developing regional digital workforce plans.

In March/April 2024 all regional DSD networks have been conducting a Digital Data and Technology (DDaT) workforce data collection via an online collection tool; this was completed by individual organisations reflecting the staffing they had in post as at 29 February 2024 under the new DDaT job families as well as their establishment for 2024/25; the uptake from most regions has been great with 6 out of 8 regions achieving over 90% (3 regions a 100%) return rate.

The workforce data collection is a valuable and important piece of work that will inform future regional and national workforce planning. If you would like to have access to the DSDN DDaT census data dashboard, please contact: [email protected] and [email protected] who are coordinating this.

Regional DSD networks have also been tasked to lead on the development of regional digital workforce roadmaps. A third-party provider Attain Health Management was commissioned to support this important work. Workshops were held in all regions, business plans consulted and the findings have been validated by the senior leadership teams. Most roadmaps have now been signed off by the regional directors of digital transformation.
