FastFutures: tackling the digital skills gap in healthcare
Hear how Carol Rossell, alumni of FastFutures, gained the right skills and knowledge through the Digital Career Accelerator Programme to start a career in the National Health Service (NHS).
We are partnered with Avado Learning to promote and support their FastFutures programme across the NHS. Built to bridge the gap between education and employment, FastFutures offer role-specific training courses and boot-camps, career coaching and mentoring sessions to unlock potential.
FastFutures recently caught up with alumni of their Digital Career Accelerator Programme, Carol Rossell, to discover how the programme helped her and where she is in her career now.
Upon completion of the Digital Career Accelerator Programme, which gave her the opportunity to learn about finance, marketing, data and entrepreneurship, Carol went on to complete the data bootcamp and become qualified in Microsoft Power Business Intelligence (BI). Since then, she has been working in the NHS.
Carol was successful in securing a place on the NHS’ Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) Scheme, working as a Lead Analyst. The DDaT Graduate Scheme is a fast-track scheme for graduates interested in a career in health informatics and technology. Successful candidates are employed in a band 5 NHS role and work with different teams and on various projects across the NHS to broaden their skills and knowledge.
We’re delighted that Carol has successfully completed the DDaT Scheme and is now progressing her career in the NHS to begin working as a Service Improvement Manager at Barts Health NHS Trust.
Read more about Carol’s story and how completing a FastFutures programme has helped her career.
