Workshop to support professionalism and career development in health and care
Are you involved in digital learning or training and keen to support professionalism and career development in health and care?
The Federation for Informatics Professionals in Health and Care (FEDIP), working with NHS England and BCS (The Chartered Institute for IT), is developing standardised job roles within the Learning, Training and Development job family. This work will create clear, consistent career structures for those involved in digital learning and training across health and care.
The Occupational Architecture brings together frameworks such as Government Digital and Data (GDaD) and Skills for the Information Age (SFIA), along with others specific to health and care informatics.
It groups job roles into families, providing transparency on the skills, competencies and qualifications required at each level. It also includes guidance and suggested learning resources to support ongoing professional development.
By simplifying existing frameworks, the Occupational Architecture helps digital professionals plan their career pathways, identify future roles, and map the skills and qualifications they need.
You can view the work completed so far on FEDIP Job Role Database.
There is a workshop planned for Wednesday 26 November 2025 between 2pm and 4pm, this will be held over MS Teams.
We need 20 interested people working in the field of digital training to work with FEDIP and BCS to create this job family and job roles.
If you are interested, please contact Kim Bellis FHRIM, LFEDIP, Programme Manager, FEDIP at [email protected]
